Maple Turkey Sausage

1 pound (16 ounces) lean turkey, ground
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon mustard powder
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1/8 teaspoon ground sage
Pinch ground cinnamon
Pinch ground allspice
Pinch ground mace
Optional: 1/4 teaspoon natural maple flavoring

1. Mix together all ingredients together in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
2. Shape mixture into 4 flat patties. Cook over medium heat in a nonstick skillet or grill pan for 3 minutes on each side or until cooked through.
