Honey Oat Bran Bread,
Bread Machine |

CookingWithPam.com NOTE: I use about 1/4 cup less flour than
is recommended in most 2-pound loaf bread machine recipes. That
sometimes results in a bit of a "top knot" on the loaf (as
pictured), but I like the bread texture better, so I'm willing
to risk a less than perfect loaf "top." |

From the Chapter 5:
Honey Oat Bran Bread
Yield: 1 large (2-pound bread machine) loaf
Servings: 24
1 1/4 cup skim milk
2 tablespoons nonfat buttermilk powder
1 tablespoon olive or canola oil
1 medium egg
1 cup oat bran
1 teaspoon sea salt
2 1/2 cup unbleached all-purpose or bread flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon honey
2 1/2 teaspoons dry yeast
Add the ingredients to your bread machine in the order
recommended by the manufacturer, which is usually in the order
given, being careful that the yeast doesn't come in contact with
the salt.

I'm of the opinion that no kitchen is complete without a bread machine. I use the
Zojirushi BBCC-V20 Home Bakery Traditional Breadmaker
in mine. |
|
|
It makes a 2-pound,
horizontal loaf, so your bread looks homemade in addition to tasting
that way, too. In the Bread section on
this site, I provide lots of bread machine recipes, plus hints and
tips on how to make your homemade, bread maker loaves come out
great. I provide other bread options, too. |
