If you're gonna
give into that chocolate craving and indulge yourself, DO IT IN
STYLE! Use real butter. Use
real vanilla. Throw away
the calorie counter. ENJOY!!! |

Recipe ingredients:
1/4 cup butter (1/2 stick of butter)
1/4 cup cocoa
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
pinch salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon milk
1/3 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
Instructions:
- In an 8" square glass baking dish, melt the butter -- 20 to 30
seconds in the microwave.
- Pour melted butter into your mixing bowl. (Voilá! You just buttered
your baking dish, too.)
- Add cocoa and stir into the melted butter until blended. Add sugar,
egg, salt, vanilla, and milk, and mix thoroughly.
- Stir in dry ingredients.
- Bake in a 350º oven for 30 minutes.**
Oven performance fluctuates; therefore, I recommend checking the
brownies after 20 minutes.
NOTE: Using an 8" square baking dish will make very thin
brownies. If you prefer chewy over crispy, you may want to use a smaller
pan. Also, if you're feeding a family, I suggest you double, triple, or
quadruple the batch! Adjust baking time accordingly.

Crunchier Top SUGGESTION:

True, you'll change the semi-sweet flavor, BUT if
you like your brownies chewy in the middle with a crunchy crust on top,
add an additional 1/4 cup of sugar to the recipe above.
